Congestion Management in NL Workshop (2025) Structured Discussions Session Voting Data

This dataset contains the results of the Structured Participatory Discussion session in the "Workshop on Congestion Management in the Netherlands" in October 2025. The discussion session followed the related topics introduced in the preceding lectures (see https://ees-tue.github.io/congestion-management-nl/program/). Participants responded to a series of choice and ranking questions using Mentimeter. Each question included contextual/ oral explanations before voting, ensuring that the responses reflect informed perspectives on congestion management challenges and possible solutions in the Dutch/EU electricity system. There are three main topics in the whole discussion session, which are the technical research gap, policy reception, and end users&amp; energy community. The questions were designed in a step-by-step manner to progressively capture participants’ views, expectations, and assessments across these thematic areas.<br>Description of the files included<br> <em>Workshop on NL Congestion Management.pdf</em>This file contains the slides used during the discussion session. It contains two sheets: <em>Voters</em>– anonymized individual-level responses, listing each participant’s selections for each question.<em>Session</em> – contains per-question summary statistics, including respondent counts and aggregated vote distributions.This spreadsheet allows users to perform their own analysis, such as comparing question results, examining response patterns, or integrating the data into broader studies on congestion management and stakeholder behavior.<br>Relevance and Potential Applications of the DatasetThe dataset provides a concise overview of stakeholder perceptions across several themes relevant to congestion management in the Dutch/EU electricity system. As such, it may serve as a valuable complement to technical analyses and can support research, policy development, and scenario studies that require insight into stakeholder views and preferences. In addition, social scientists, policymakers, and practitioners involved in the energy community may also find the dataset informative for understanding how different groups perceive congestion-related challenges.
