资源简介:
Argo floats sometimes sample under ice, and do not return a measured position. Here, we provide estimates of positions using the multiple-constraint method described by Oke et al. (2022).
Each file includes longitude and latitude from GPS measurements when floats are not under ice. When floats are under ice, positions are estimated by linearly interpolating between known locations (the traditional approach used by the Argo community), and using constraints: potential vorticity, f/H; mean sea-level, and density at 1000 m. A merged trajectory is also included, but users might select their preferred estimate based on their understanding of the ocean circulation at the time of measurement.
