THE CONSTITUTIONAL-LEGAL NATURE OF THE INSTITUTION OF PARLIAMENTARY OPPOSITION AND ITS ROLE IN A DEMOCRATIC STATE SYSTEM

This study provides a scholarly analysis of the role of the institution of parliamentary opposition in the development of a democratic state and the system of parliamentarism, as well as its constitutional and legal foundations and its importance in ensuring political stability. The research highlights the functions of the opposition within the framework of the principle of “checks and balances” in public administration, its participation in the legislative process, and the mechanisms for exercising oversight over government activities. Furthermore, the study examines issues related to strengthening the legal status of parliamentary opposition based on the experience of developed foreign countries, as well as the essence and significance of reforms carried out within the framework of the updated Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
