Exploring Local Communities Relational Values to Forest Protected Areas

This data set provides information about the utilization of forest ES and additional factors influence an individual’s relational values (RVs) towards two forests in northern Jordan; Ajloun and Yarmouk Forest Protected Area (FPA). A total of 200 members from local communities were interviewed, equally distributed between the two forests. Among various ES, cultural, and to some extent provisioning ES was the most important. Recreation and collection of wild plants were the most mentioned ES used in both FPAs. Information is collected about the socio-economic factors like gender, age, income, and period of residency near the reserve, besides the set of statements of respondents’ RVs towards the FPAs.本数据集提供了约旦北部两处森林保护区——阿杰隆森林保护区与约尔穆克森林保护区（Forest Protected Area，以下简称FPA）的森林生态系统服务（Ecosystem Services，ES）利用情况，以及影响个体对这两处保护区的关系价值观（Relational Values，RVs）的相关影响因素信息。本次研究共访谈200名当地社区居民，样本在两处保护区间均匀分配。在各类生态系统服务中，文化服务及一定程度上的供给服务被认为是最为重要的服务类型；休闲游憩与野生植物采集是两处保护区内最常被提及的利用型生态系统服务。数据集同时收集了受访者的社会经济特征信息，包括性别、年龄、收入水平及在保护区附近的居住时长，此外还收录了受访者针对两处保护区的关系价值观相关表述。
