Wiper rubber strips are a key component of windshield wiper assemblies mounted on automotive front windshields, which function to remove rainwater and dust from the glass during rainy conditions. These strips are typically fabricated from nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR) and polyvinyl chloride (PVC), exhibiting sufficient elasticity to adapt to diverse weather and road conditions. Comprehensive performance evaluation of wiper rubber strips with varying NBR/PVC mixing ratios and different antioxidant grades can not only aid in understanding the individual properties of the materials, but also enable a thorough assessment of the product reliability of wiper rubber strips. This work provides valuable performance evaluation data support for downstream enterprises when purchasing such strips, and offers a scientific basis for selecting raw material suppliers in subsequent stages. Data Collection: Collect test data of wiper rubber strips manufactured by the company. Data Processing: Eliminate duplicate, erroneous, incomplete, or abnormal data from the collected raw test datasets, organize and analyze the test data, and statistically determine the minimum (min) and maximum (max) values of corresponding indicators. Data Calculation: Normalize the test data to support subsequent comparative and analytical work. The normalized value for a given indicator is calculated using the formula: Normalized Value = (Test Value - Indicator Min Value) / (Indicator Max Value - Indicator Min Value). Once the normalized values are obtained, compute the comprehensive performance index via the following formula: Comprehensive Performance Index = k1 × Normalized Oxygen Index + k2 × Normalized Hardness + k3 × Normalized Compression Resilience Rate + k4 × Normalized Thermal Conductivity, where k1, k2, k3, k4 are weight coefficients with assigned values of 0.15, 0.35, 0.35, and 0.15 respectively. Data Application: Conducting comprehensive performance tests and evaluations on wiper rubber strips can not only aid in understanding the individual properties of the materials, but also enable a thorough assessment of the product reliability of such strips.
