Variation of bacterial communities in Bumblebees (PRJCA019124)

Bumblebee is an important pollinator which can regarded as ideal models for investigating the relationship between host and microbiome. Its mating behavior may regulate microbial diversity through sexual transmission or immunity activation. Therefore, the study of mating-induced microbiomes changes is informative to unravel its biological relevance and evolutionary significance. Here, we studied the microbiomes in a community context within the guts and reproduction organs of bumblebees using 16S rDNA sequences.
