叶绿素是浮游植物进行光合作用的主要色素，包括叶绿素a、b、c、d等，其中最主要的是叶绿素a，广泛存在于浮游植物体内，其浓度是反映水体浮游植物含量的重要且直接的指标。本数据为中国第12次北极科学考察（2021年）叶绿素浓度观测数据，对了解北极及邻区海域吸收或转移CO2的过程、机制和能力；了解北极特定海区浮游植物的生物地球化学特征、研究其对全球气候变化的贡献和对我国气候和海洋环境影响具有重要意义。
