The transcriptome sequencing and de novo assembly from four different tissues of H. assulta larva were performed using the Illumina Hiseq platform. A total of 214.5 million clean reads were obtained and assembled into 49,184 unigenes with an average length of 1140bp and N50 of 2068bp. A total of 30,292 unigenes were annotated to Non-Redundant (NR), Nucleotide (NT), Swiss-Prot, Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG), Clusters of Orthologous Groups (COG) and Gene Ontology (GO) databases. In total, 2804 microsatellites were identified from 49,184 assembled unigenes and 425,593 SNPs including 275,529 transitions and 150,064 transversions were found after filtering.
