Texas Resource Management Codes (RMC) Database of State-Owned Submerged Lands along the Texas Coast

The Resource Management Codes (RMC) are two-letter codes assigned to state-owned tracts in Texas bays and estuaries, and Gulf of Mexico waters, representing development guidelines for activities within the tracts. The RMC enhance protection of sensitive natural resources by providing recommendations for minimizing adverse impacts to sensitive areas from mineral exploration and development activities. The RMC assist individuals by providing the best available information on natural resource concerns that may be associated with leasing state land tracts and assist them with project planning efforts. The RMC are based on the recommendations from the following external resources: U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, National Marine Fisheries Service, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, Texas Historical Commission, and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps). The RMC are designated to revision year 2017 of the Texas State-owned submerged tracts layer SUB_OTLS. All datasets used to designate the RMC are included.
