Aedes aegypti 16S profiling Targeted locus. mosquito metagenome

The goal of this project was to compare the composition of the midgut microbiome between two strains of Aedes aegypti mosquitoes before and after blood feeding. These strains (Rockefeller and Singapore) differ in their vector competence for dengue virus and have differing numbers of bacteria in their midguts.
