Development and harmonization of road-transport emission factors for India

The dataset provides India-specific emission factors (EFs) across six vehicle categories (2-wheelers (2W), 3-wheelers (3W), 4-wheelers (4W), light commercial vehicles (LCVs), buses, and trucks) and three fuel types (petrol, diesel, CNG) for emission-control regimes ranging from BS-I and equivalent standards (Euro (COPERT) and US (MOVES)) to BS-VI and its equivalents for the major pollutants like CO, NOX, OC, BC/EC, PM2.5, VOCs, CH4, N2O and NH3 emission factors where available. Auxiliary data provide LPG-specific emission factors alongside information regarding vehicle fuel-type distributions. To harmonise varying emission-factor frameworks, separate EF-ratio datasets map BS (ARAI) standards against Euro (COPERT) and US-EPA (MOVES) benchmarks across available combinations of vehicle type, fuel type, and technology category. These ratios clarify structural variations between standards, supporting national inventory development, atmospheric transport modelling, and comparative emission analysis.
