Characterization of Klebsiella pneumoniae isolates from blood samples of pediatric patients from Mexico by Whole-Genome Sequencing. Klebsiella

The aim of this project is the characterization of Klebsiella pneumoniae strains isolated from blood culture of pediatric patients in Mexico City. This description comprises the identification of both virulence and antibiotic resistance genes and its probable association with the pathogenicity. We focused in virulence genes that code for capsule, fimbriae, lipopolysaccharide, secretion systems, outer membrane proteins, siderophores. The antibiotic resistance genes analyzed in this study are from different families.
