<h3>Study Overview: Human-Robot Interaction (HRI)</h3> <p> <strong>Methodology:</strong> In this study, we used a two-step surveying approach to observe the change in users' opinion about robotics and HRI via a physical experiment. <strong>31 participants</strong> completed pre- and post-experiment surveys after a physical collaborative lifting task with a <strong>UR5e cobot</strong>. </p> <hr> <h3>User Perception Questionnaires</h3> <p>Total of 9 perceptions investigated:</p> <ul> <li><strong>Q1:</strong> I think robotics technology has developed a lot and it amuses me.</li> <li><strong>Q2:</strong> I think robotics technology has developed a lot and it scares me.</li> <li><strong>Q3:</strong> I think robots will take over human jobs and <strong>THEREFORE</strong> many people will be unemployed.</li> <li><strong>Q4:</strong> I think robots will take over human jobs and <strong>BUT</strong> many new jobs opportunities will be formed.</li> <li><strong>Q5:</strong> I think robots will take over heavy human jobs and the average life quality will increase.</li> <li><strong>Q6:</strong> I prefer humans and robots work together instead of removing either of them from the picture.</li> <li><strong>Q7:</strong> I believe there are many jobs that humans cannot be as good as robots.</li> <li><strong>Q8:</strong> I believe there are many jobs that robots will never be as good as humans.</li> <li><strong>Q9:</strong> I believe that robots will take over the world and destroy humankind one day.</li> </ul> <hr> <h3>Investigated User Parameters</h3> <p>The shift was investigated based on these 9 parameters:</p> <ul> <li>Age and Sex</li> <li>Current and Past Gaming Habits</li> <li>Programming Experience</li> <li>Familiarity to Robotics Field</li> <li>Proximity to Robots (e.g., robot cleaners)</li> <li>Familiarity to Industrial Robots</li> <li>Interest in Robotics</li> </ul>
