«Atribución de autoría y Humanidades Digitales: Métodos de estilometría y aplicación al Siglo de Oro»

This paper presents the use of some of the tools offered by the digital humanities to try to bring new perspectives to a long-discussed case of authorship attribution: that of the short novel “La tía fingida» (The Pretended Aunt) attributed to Cervantes. In order to achieve this aim, we will first present some theoretical aspects of the concept of style and its definition in the digital humanities sphere. The process of compilation of the corpus and some of the problems of the texts in the Spanish Golden Age will be shown. Throught the use of stylometry methods and using “stylo” as a tool, the different experiments carried out, both for attribution and authorship verification,will be presented. The results show that “El celoso extremeño” and “La tía fingida” seem to have a stylistic relatedness so it will be concluded with a summary of the literary analysis to finally contrast both works from the stylometric and literary criticism perspective.
