Parasite microbiomes and host manipulation

Many parasites are known to manipulate their hosts' behaviour/phenotype, but there is variation in the resulting manipulated phenotype even for hosts of the same species infected by the same species of parasite. This project aims to characterise the microbiome of various invertebrate hosts and their manipulative parasites, to investigate the hypothesis that the microbiome of parasites and their hosts could interact and result in such variation of manipulated phenotypes.
