In this study, we evaluated the effects of freeze-thaw cycles (FTCs) frequencies on microbial communities from Arctic and alpine top soils (5-10cm depth). FTCs-driven changes on the structure of the prokaryotic and fungal communities of the different soils were assessed by amplicon sequencing of the 16S rRNA gene and ITS2 internal transcribed spacer region, respectively.
