Open Candidati Europee

Most administrative dataset about politicians only includes those actually elected, ignoring all those candidates that never passed the election barrier. The aim of this dataset is to overcome this limitation by providing information about all of the 1076 candidacies for the Italian European Parliament elections of 2019 (more elections will be added later). The dataset has been constructed by text-mining the Curricula Vitae (CVs) of the candidates and other official administrative sources (dati camera ,anagrafe amministratori, social network, etc..). The full list of variable and their description can be found in the \"metadata_opencandidati_europee\" excel sheet. Information about each candidacies includes (among others): -age -gender -education -text of the criminal record -text of the curriculum vitae -previous political experience -presence on the web (twitter, facebook, google trend) -preferences obtained at each of the 107 italian provinces for each candidacy + 80 others features.
