Sex-specific pediatric body fat models

Childhood obesity continues to rise globally, underscoring the need for practical tools to assess body fat percentage (BF%). Reference methods such as DXA and MRI are accurate but impractical for large-scale use, and existing anthropometric prediction models often suffer from measurement error, limited generalizability, and insufficient consideration of sex-specific differences in fat distribution. More robust, accessible approaches are therefore needed.
