Dataset on ground-nesting bees in eastern Scotland

This repository contains data on ground-nesting bees in eastern Scotland. These data were used in the publication titled Population trends and habitat preferences of ground-nesting bees in arable landscapes from public-based records by Tixi et al. (2026). Each table contains variables describing bee occurrence and habitat characteristics for the 1 km × 1 km grid cells in which the species was recorded. The variables include: Pop_Dens: Human population density (people/km²) Town_Dist: Distance to the nearest town (km) Road_Dist: Distance to the nearest road (km) Green_Dist: Distance to the nearest urban green space (km) Tmax: Mean maximum temperature (°C) Tmin: Mean minimum temperature (°C) Rainfall: Mean monthly rainfall (mm) Period: Occurrence period, where 1 = 2010-2014 and 2 = 2015-2019
