资源简介:
We hindcasted Hurricane Florence flooding across North and South Carolina (Carolinas) using the hydrodynamic model (SFINCS) with high-resolution meteorologic data and coastal water level output from an ocean recirculation model (ADCIRC) used as inputs. We conducted a detailed performance evaluation of the model comparing to water level gages, high water marks, as well as property-level records of insured flood damage. We use the model to simulate peak water levels for three scenarios including runoff, coastal, and compound processes and attribute peak flood extent and building exposure to the different drivers. Our model results are useful for assessing large-scale flood impacts to Hurricane Florence and they can be used for comparison with other hydrodynamic or data-driven models outputs.
