Anonymized GPS Tracks of SAR Searchers Across Hasty, Sweep, and Paired Team Searches

This dataset contains anonymized GPS tracks of searchers participating in six wilderness search and rescue (SAR) team deployments. The data is used in the manuscript: “Speed, slope, and synchrony: Empirical insights into SAR searcher behavior.” For each searcher track, the dataset includes: Search type (hasty, sweep, paired) Anonymous team identifier Anonymous searcher identifier Unique track identifier Time relative to track start (HH:MM:SS and numeric seconds) Latitude (degrees) Longitude (degrees) Elevation (meters) All identifying metadata present in the original GPS files (e.g., device identifiers, timestamps, incident metadata) have been removed. Time values are reported relative to the start of each individual track to preserve anonymity. The dataset contains 61 unique searcher tracks totaling 45,202 observations.
