Plasmid Transfer. Achromobacter xylosoxidans

This project is designed to clarify the horizontal transfer of plasmid from Achromobacter xylosoxidans to Klebsiella pneumoniae. We use three clinical isolates in this project. One is carabpenemase producing A. xylosoxidans harbouring metallo-beta-lactamase gene, the other is carbapenemase non producing K. pneumoniae, and another is carbapenemase producing K. pneumoniae harbouring metallo-beta-lactamase gene. We serach plasmids that these species harbored and clarify their profiles using whole-genome sequencing. Whole-genome sequencing were performed on Illumina Miseq benchtop sequencer. We also demonstrated phylogenetic tree analysis based on SNPs and molecular clock analysis to identify the relationships between carbapenemase producing and non producing K. pneumoniae.
