资源简介:
This dataset provides information on the ichthyoplankton diversity and abundance throught the water column, in southern the Benguela Current region (southeastern Atlantic) in austral winter and summer months between 1983 and 1985. Anchovy eggs and larvae dominated the summer samples. Comparisons of the location of eggs and larvae collected during summer surveys showed northward, passive displacement from the Cape area to the western south African coast by the frontal jet current. This southern part of the Benguela current region was characterized by the occurrence of several species absent form the cental and northern Benguela, such as Paracallionymus costatus and Sebastes capensis
