The effect of laser wire filling on microstructure and mechanical properties of welded Al-Si coated hot formed steel was studied. The welding wire diluted the Al element in the weld synchronously in the transition mode of liquid bridge, inhibited the formation of ferrite, and obtained the welded joint with excellent mechanical properties.
