The Mimulus naiandinus transcriptome will be used to identify anthocyanin-related genes expressed in developing bud tissue. The M. l. variegatus transcriptomes are of two types: wild-type, and transgenic with RNAi knockdown of the Myb5 anthocyanin activating gene. Transcriptome sets will be compared to evaluate changes in expression associated with RNAi.
