chromosome-level genome assembly of Gentiana straminea

<i>Gentiana straminea</i> Maxim. is a perennial herb and mainly distributed in the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau. To adapt to the extreme environment, it has developed particular morphological, physiological and genetic structures. Also, rich in iridoids, it is one of the original plants of traditional Chinese herb “Qinjiao”. We present its first chromosome-level genome sequence assembly by combining Nanopore, Illumina and Hi-C sequencing.

麻花艽（Gentiana straminea Maxim.）为多年生草本植物，主要分布于青藏高原。为适应极端环境，其演化出独特的形态、生理及遗传特征。该物种富含环烯醚萜类成分，是中药"秦艽"的基原植物之一。本研究结合纳米孔测序（Nanopore）、Illumina及Hi-C测序技术，报道了该物种首个染色体水平基因组序列组装结果。
