McMurdo Dry Vallyes Seasonal Effects on Soil Biota

Investigation of the effect of long-term variation in soil moisture and soil temperature on nematode anhydrobiosis as part of the McMurdo Dry Valleys Long Term Ecological Research (LTER) project. The percent of anhydrobiotic (coiled) nematodes with relation to season was determined. The study took place on three separate dates during the 1997-1998 austral summer: 21 November 1997, 16 December 1997, and 13 January 1998.本研究作为麦克默多干谷长期生态研究（Long Term Ecological Research, LTER）项目的组成部分，探究了土壤湿度与土壤温度的长期变化对线虫隐生（anhydrobiosis）的影响。研究测定了与季节相关的隐生（卷曲状态）线虫的占比。该研究于1997-1998年南极夏季的三个独立采样日期开展：1997年11月21日、1997年12月16日及1998年1月13日。
