Trace Gas and Meteorological Fields from WRF-LES

This dataset was generated for "A Statistical Evaluation of WRF-LES Trace Gas Dispersion Using Project Prairie Grass Measurements" (MWR). It contains 10-minute averaged trace gas and meteorological fields from six WRF-LES simulations as well as the namelists used to generate the meteorological fields.

Three of these simulations have strong surface heating and weak geostrophic winds ("SCBL"). The other three look at weak heating and strong geostrophic winds ("WCBL"). Three different resolutions are also examined for each set of forcing: coarse, moderate, and fine. These simulations all contain an emission source at the lowest grid cells, whereas the "_elev" simulations contain emissions a few grid cells aloft.

Version 1 of this dataset has fields that were generated with a roughness length of 0.1 m whereas Version 2 fields were generated with a roughness length of 0.008 m. Version 2 fields were used in the final version of the manuscript.
