Genome assembly - Drosophila simulans M252 strain

Fasta file of a <i>D. simulans</i> genome assembly (M252 strain, Madagascar). The genome was sequenced using PacBio (8 Gb, ~ 50x coverage) and assemblies obtained with Canu &amp; Falcon were merged after polishing (Quiver and Pilon, two iterations each). The merged assembly was polished again (Quiver and Pilon, two iterations each) before anchoring contigs on the <i>D. melanogaster</i> r6 genome. The total genome size is 127.32 Mb, among which 115.08 Mb are anchored on <i>D. melanogaster</i> main chromosome arms. All details are available in the publication.
