Dataset Generation & Processing Steps: Soil samples (n=126) were collected from the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau in May 2023. After removing the top 2 cm of soil, three parallel samples were taken from six land-use types (Forest, Farmland, Village, Greenbelt, Park, Residential area) across seven cities with varying urbanization levels (Linzhi, Shannan, Qamdo, Lhasa, Baoshan, Kunming, Chengdu). Samples were stored at 4°C, manually cleaned of roots/gravels, and sieved through a 10-mesh (2 mm) screen. Soil physicochemical properties (pH, moisture, organic matter) were measured. Total soil DNA and viral DNA were extracted using dedicated kits. Viral metagenomic (virome) and bulk metagenomic sequencing were performed on an Illumina NovaSeq 6000 platform.
