Control of Hazardous Substances

The operational control programme integrates the information necessary to determine the status of surface water bodies at risk of non-compliance with the environmental objectives set out in Directive 2000/60/EC, the Water Framework Directive. It is also used to determine the degree of effectiveness of the programs of measures implemented to restore good condition.
This control is therefore carried out on all water bodies identified at risk of not meeting their environmental objectives and where substances included in the list of priority substances are discharged.
The parameters monitored at these sampling stations focus on the indicators corresponding to the biological and hydromorphological quality elements most sensitive to the pressure or pressures to which the body of water in question is subjected. It also includes monitoring of priority substances discharged and other pollutants discharged in significant quantities (control hazardous substances and pesticides).
