VPRS 14577 General Correspondence Files, Alphabetical System II, Committee of Management

This series consists of the files kept by the Committee of Management of the Wilsons Promontory National Park. Subjects dealt with cover the whole range of the responsibilities of the Committee in the provision and regulation of access to the park, the provision and maintenance of facilities, the making and enforcing of regulations and matters relating to the conservation of the environment and the protection of flora and fauna.The series appears to have been commenced after the death of the inaugural Secretary of the Committee (Mr J Kershaw) in 1946. Papers from the previous series (as created and maintained by Mr Kershaw) VPRS 14555 have been removed and incorporated into this series. Files appear to have been created as need arose, often prompted by the discussion of a matter at meetings of the Committee of Management.
