Zooflagellate production in the Central Indian Ocean@en

Multiplication rate and production of zooflagellates were determined in the Central Indian Ocean. In the surface zone of the areas studied zooflagellate generation time ranged from 24 to 48 hours and production from 0.5 to 10.6 mg/m**3. The lowest multiplication rate was found at depth of 100 m (92 hours); no multiplication was found in water samples taken from depth of 120 m or below.本研究于中印度洋海域测定了动鞭毛虫（zooflagellates）的增殖速率与生物生产量。在所研究海域的表层水体中，动鞭毛虫的世代时间介于24至48小时之间，生物生产量为0.5至10.6 mg/m³。在100米水深处测得最低增殖速率（对应世代时间为92小时）；而在120米及更深水深采集的水样中未检测到增殖现象。
