The recent discovery of a new transiting planet with only 1.4 Rearth orbitinga nearby bright M star offers us the possibility to search for planetatmospheric features in an Earth-like atmosphere. This planet will be among thebest studied in the next years. As the star is part of the CARMENES guaranteedtime observations we have used a wealth of high-resolution spectroscopic dataof the star to determine a mass of 1.9 Earth masses. We intend to observe theplanet host star GJ 806 with XMM-Newton for a total of 15 ks to model thecoronal XUV emission that is arriving to the planet likely producingphotoevaporation. The XUV data are needed for complementing the search forplanet atmospheric features in the optical and near-infrared such as the He I 10830 triplet or H2O molecular lines. [truncated!
