In this study, we investigate the potential role of BMP stimulation on the oncogenic capacity of Medulloblastoma cells. BMP7 stimulation demonstrated pleiotropic effects on the investigated cells, inducing high cancer stem cell capacity or cell death. In addition, we uncovered the role of LHX2 as a prominent target of BMP7 signaling that can alter the stem cell capacity and positively modulate BMP signaling through a forward feedback loop. Comparative gene expression profiling analysis of RNA-seq data for Medulloblastoma cells (CHLA01, CHLA01R, MB002 and D425) treated with BMP7 ligand for 72 hours with respective PBS-treated controls. Additional comparison is done for CHLA01R treated with LDN (BMP signaling inhibior) with respect to DMSO-treated cells.
