资源简介:
Iron plays an important role in oxidative tissue damage and subsequent carcinogenesis. Iron deposition in the peritoneum causes neoplastic changes. Here we used microRNA (miR) microarrays in a rat model by repeated intraperitoneal injections of ferric saccharate. miR microarray revealed the miR-199/214 as a distinctive feature of sarcomatoid mesothelioma. Carcinogenesis protocol was performed using specific pathogen-free male and female F1 hybrid rats between Fischer344 and Brown-Norway strains. A total of 8 samples were analyzed by microRNA (miR) microarray for the screening purpose. Eight samples follows; the immortalized rat peritoneal mesothelial cell and mesothelial tissue collection as non-neoplastic mesothelia;iron saccharete-Induced four cases of epithelioid mesothelioma and two cases of sarcomatoid subtypes. The six mesothelioma samples were obtained from the same tumors also analyzed in our previously submitted experiment (GSE16138).
