Digital Coverage Press of Water Crisis in São Paulo

This database is the source for the article that is part of the main results from the doctoral dissertation Rios Invisíveis (OLIVEIRA, 2019) on the water crisis in São Paulo, Brazil (2012-2016). The objective was to understand whether the press considered the pollution of urban rivers and dams as one of the main causes for the scarcity of drinking water during this time period. By limiting their view only to the present, the press ignored the past causes of this public problem, which ultimately damages the quality of debates in society. The study brings the frequencies of Temporal Cuts and verifies the offer to users of hyperlinks for temporal interactivities. The author starts from concepts such as Public Sphere (HABERMAS, 1989), Interactivity (Levy, 1999) and Memory in Web journalism (PALÁCIOS, 2014). A corpus of 679 articles published during the water crisis (2012-2016) was selected from online versions of the Brazilian newspapers Folha de S. Paulo, O Estado de S. Paulo and Diário de S. Paulo.
