资源简介:
The purpose of an admission register was to record basic details about children admitted to the school, and about their parents or guardians. The registers were also used to record the progress of the children through various classes and the date of their leaving the school. These volumes contain information pertaining to each pupil including: date of admission; pupil's name; date of birth; religious denomination; name of previous school and date of leaving. The following details are recorded about the child's parents or guardians: name, residence and occupation. The pupil's date of admission to each subsequent grade, date of leaving the school and any occupation entered into on leaving school is also recorded; this last column is also used to indicate the school to which a pupil may have transferred. Girls and boys are listed on opposite pages in order of admission, and are normally numbered in two separate sequences. This volume which comprises this series was commenced in 1936, but incorporates all enrolments current that year, the relevant entries having been transferred from the previous volume of the series. These entries retain the sequential numbering which they bore in the previous volume. A note at the top of the first page of entries reads “Re entered from old book. Blank spaces were here when I came. A.F.” The initials are those of Arthur Fuller, Headmaster from 1935 to 1940. [1] This volume records no new admissions after the end of 1970, but continued to be used to record the progress and withdrawal of pupils admitted during that and previous years until February, 1974.Admission registers in paper format ceased in 1999 when the department moved to recording enrolment details in electronic format.[1] Centenary Times, 30th March, 1983, pp.14, 37.
