RNA sequencing of Ziziphus jujuba var. spinosa

Jujuboside A is a main active ingredient of Ziziphi Spinosae Semen, which is refered as the dry mature seeds of Ziziphus jujuba Mill. var. spinosa (Bunge) Hu ex H. F. Chow. Previous studies showed that jujuboside A is also present in the roots and leaves of Z. jujuba var. spinosa, and its content will be increased under the treatment of adenosine triphosphate. The objective of this study is to identify the key genes involved in jujuboside A biosynthesis pathway by treating the leaves and roots of Z. jujuba var. spinosa with adenosine triphosphate and investigating the expression changes of genes.
