ISI/Roper Center Survey #187: National Survey on Philanthropy, 1997

<p>This survey was sponsored by the National Commission on Philanthropy and Civic Renewal and conducted by the Institute for Social Inquiry/Roper Center. A national sample of 1,683 adults plus an oversample of high income groups, blacks and Hispanics were interviewed on March 10-27, 1997. Major topics covered: Contributions given to or raised for a charity; time devoted to volunteer work; community activities; obligations of American; percentage of income given to charity; roles and responsibilities of charities; inherited money; wills; political parties; religion</p>
