Fisher, Johnson, and Smeeding (2015) income imputation data from Consumer Expenditure Survey

The files contain imputed income data for the 1984Q4-2012Q1 Consumer Expenditure (CE) Survey. The CE Survey began imputing income in 2004 but did not apply its methods backwards in time. We applied the CE Survey imputation method as close as we could from 1984Q1-2012Q1, allowing a consistent time series of imputed income. Individual income sources are imputed five times using multiple imputation methods.<br><br>The files can be linked back to the original CE Survey data using the linkage variables described in the README file.<br><br>We also provide the Stata programs used to impute income, should researchers want to alter our methodology or replicate our methodology.
