<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:0cm;line-height:150%"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family:&#39;times new roman&#39; , serif">Bovine respiratory disease (BRD)
causes significant economic losses to the feedlot industry due to decreased
production and increased costs associated with treatment.</span><span lang="EN-GB" style="font-family:&#39;times new roman&#39; , serif">The pathogenesis of BRD involves stressful conditions, coupled with
viral infection, which results in suppressed immune defenses what led to the
bacteria proliferation in the upper respiratory tract. </span><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family:&#39;times new roman&#39; , serif">One of ways of
prevention and treatment of respiratory diseases is the administration of
antiserum. Hyperimmune serum is an important source of specific
antibodies.  The aim of this study was to produce bovine hyperimmune serum
containing antibody against selected conservative antigens of gram-negative
bacteria that present broad cross-reactivity with related antigens of many
strains of <em>Pasteurellaceae</em> and <em>Enterobacteriaceae </em>families and
evaluate the effect of supplementary application in the treatment of
respiratory tract infections in dairy heifer calves. </span><span lang="EN-GB" style="font-family:&#39;times new roman&#39; , serif">The
adjunctive administration of hyperimmune serum to antibiotic and nonsteroidal
anti-inflammatory drugs treatment of respiratory tract infections in dairy
heifer calves resulted in a reduction in the duration and severity of clinical
