Counts of Elacatinus gobies on Bahamian reefs with controlled lionfish densities from reef surveys conducted in Eleuthera, Bahamas in 2012 (Lionfish Invasion project)

<p>An experiment was conducted on Bahamian reefs (at Eleuthera, Bahamas) in which red lionfish (<em>Pterois volitans</em>) densities were controlled on 8 paired reefs, one reef of the pair having low lionfish density artificially sustained and the other reef of the pair having high lionfish density artificially sustained. Censuses were taken of lionfish and gobies of the genus <em>Elacatinus</em> at each reef.</p>本实验于巴哈马埃留特拉岛（Eleuthera, Bahamas）的珊瑚礁海域开展。实验针对8组配对珊瑚礁的红狮鱼（<em>Pterois volitans</em>）种群密度进行人为调控：每组配对礁中，一个礁体人工维持低红狮鱼密度，另一个礁体则人工维持高红狮鱼密度。所有礁体均对红狮鱼与<em>Elacatinus</em>属虾虎鱼开展了种群普查。
