Fecal and ileal digesta bacterial amplicons of grower pigs fed whole grains genome sequencing

Pigs were fed whole grain based diets in a 6 (periods) × 5 (diets) cross over design with a 5 d adaptation followed by feces and ileal digesta collection. The five whole grains used were: 1) High ß-glucan hull-less barley; 2) High amylose hull-less barley; 3) Moderate ß-glucan hull-less barley; 4) Hulled barley; and 5) Hard red spring wheat. Genomic DNA was extracted, PCR amplicon library was generated (16S rRNA gene; V1-V3), and Illumina MiSeq was performed.
