The field survey was conducted at Xinxue River mCW in February 2017. In this field survey, surface sediments and overlying water samples were collected from 6 sites (C0, C1, C2, C3, C4, C5) at retention pond export (117°9’8’’E，34°45’59’’N), primary wetland export (117°9’8’’E，34°45’59’’N), secondary wetland export (117°8’56’’E，34°46’7’’N), tertiary wetland export (117°8’44’’E，34°45’40’’N), quartus wetland export (117°8’23’’E，34°45’1’’N) and fifth wetland export (117°9’9’’E，34°44’17’’N). At each site, the overlying water samples were gathered with Niskin bottles and filtered through 0.45µm syringe filters. The surface sediment samples were collected with a Peterson mud sampler by taking 0-10 cm depth and put in a sterile polyethylene plastic bag under 4 o C. The samples were transported to the laboratory for the follow-up experiments. Then, sediment samples were freeze-dried and sieved for further analysis.
