This study investigates the dynamics of In-Dip Double Subduction (IDDS) systems using analogue experiments and numerical simulations to understand the spontaneous development of asymmetry between two inward-dipping subduction zones. By systematically varying inter-trench distance and rheological parameters, we explore the influence of trench spacing, mantle flow, and slab interaction on subduction evolution.
