214 healthy adults between the ages of 18 and 25 enrolled in a one week daily sampling study. Majority White (57.9%) and Asian (24.8%) sample. Exclusion criteria: pregnancy, smoking, prescription medication use including birth control, ear-related issues that might affect the body temperature measure, BMI greater or equal to 30. Participants completed a baseline session during which time they completed trait level personality questionnaires, general feelings in social situations (e.g., social support, loneliness, rejection sensitivity), and physical health information. Outside of the lab, participants completed an experience sampling procedure where they reported on their feelings of social connection, disconnection, and body temperature 5 times a day for 7 days.
