Broad phylogenomic analyses determines the sister lineage to land plants: it’s pond scum

The goal of this project was to collect the first genomic-scale sequence data across the lineages of green algae most closely related to land plants (charophytes). Seven species were sequenced in total. Five are being published in this study. The other two were published in the following manuscript: Timme and Delwiche.
