This dataset contains plant phenology data and major crop growth period data from long-term in-situ monitoring conducted by the Chinese Ecosystem Research Network (CERN) between 2000 and 2020 across five ecosystem types: forest, grassland, desert, swamp, and farmland. The woody plant phenology table includes 3814 records covering bud break, leaf unfolding, initial flowering, full flowering, fruit/seed maturation, autumn leaf coloration, and leaf abscission for 291 species at 18 monitoring stations. The herbaceous plant phenology table has 3032 records documenting germination, flowering, fruit/seed maturation, seed dispersal, and leaf yellowing and withering stages for 312 species at 22 monitoring stations. The rice growth period table contains 551 records of 10 growth stages such as emergence, jointing, and dough ripening at 9 stations. The wheat growth period table includes 382 records of various growth stages at 9 stations. The maize growth period table has 532 records of various growth stages at 18 stations.
