A thermophilic semi-continuous composting (TSC) process is potentially suitable for the decentralized treatment of KW. However, TSC of KW generates a large amount of NH3 rich gas and the product may not be fully matured. To overcome these problems, in this study, a TSC- biofiltration two stage process was proposed and studied.
